Minda Corporation Receives National Award mobility outlook

Minda Corporation Limited has been honoured with the President’s National Award for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in 2024. This accolade presented by the President of India Droupadi Murmu recognises Minda Corporation’s significant efforts in creating an inclusive and equitable environment for persons with disabilities.

Saksham addresses critical areas such as mobility, education, and employment, providing holistic support for individuals with disabilities. To date, more than 1,200 PwDs have been employed across Spark Minda Group factories, reflecting the initiative’s tangible impact on inclusivity in the workplace.

Through its Saksham initiative Spark Minda Foundation has established permanent centres for empowerment in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. These centres provide skill training, livelihood opportunities, and assistive aids such as prosthetics, orthotics, crutches, and wheelchairs, enabling PwDs to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. Annual camps organised in regions such as Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand further extend the foundation’s reach, addressing the needs of underserved communities.

The Foundation’s efforts have been consistently impactful. In Maharashtra alone, over 1,100 fitments were provided in 2024, with similar contributions made through empowerment camps in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. These initiatives are complemented by Spark Minda’s innovative approaches, such as leveraging advanced research and development capabilities to design solutions tailored to the unique needs of PwDs.
