MG Motor India has announced the commencement of bookings for the Comet EV at INR 11,000. The company noted that in order to ensure the delivery process is completely transparent, it has introduced the ‘Track and Trace’ feature - a fully transparent experience from booking to delivery - on the ‘MyMG’ app, allowing customers to trace the status of their car bookings from their phones itself.
Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India, said that the Comet EV has been developed to cater to the specific needs of Indian urban consumers.
With MG’s industry-first Track and Trace feature, the company aims to put an end to the never-ending tussle of customers to know about the status of their car booking.
Launched at an introductory price of INR 7.98 lakh for the base Pace trim level, the phased delivery of the vehicle is scheduled from May 22, 2023. Based on the SAIC group’s GSEV platform, the Comet EV packs in an IP 67-rated 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with prismatic cells, which aids the vehicle in running a claimed distance of 230 kms.
Earlier this month, the carmaker announced its strategic 5-year business roadmap to Indianise its operations for sustainable growth and meaningful impact on society. The company plans to invest more than INR 5,000 crore and have a total of 20,000 direct and indirect workforce by 2028.
