Mercedes-Benz India has announced an upward revision of the ex-showroom price of its model range by up to 5%, effective April 1, 2023.
A press release from the carmaker noted that the currency's depreciation compared to the Euro, combined with increased input costs, including logistics costs, have been exerting significant pressure on the company’s overall operational cost. A combination of these factors has prompted Mercedes-Benz India to upwardly revise the ex-showroom price of its model range to offset some of these costs, the release noted.
While the company absorbs significant costs, some portion of it will be passed on to the consumers to sustain a profitable business, the release added.
Earlier in January 2023, Mercedes-Benz announced an upward revision in the price by up to 5% of its entire model range, effective January 1, 2023. At the time, the company noted that the price hike resulted from a constant increase in input and logistics costs, which has put significant pressure on the overall operational costs of the company.
