The German luxury vehicle maker, Mercedes-Benz India, on Friday announced that it has closed Q1CY22 with sales of 4,022 units, a growth of 26% compared to the same period last year.
As per the company, this has been one of the best quarters. Further, it also noted that the current order book for the vehicle maker stands at more than 4,000 units, the highest ever in its history in India.
A communication from the company stated that it has seen very high demand for the SUVs and sedan portfolio, with E-Class LWB being the highest-selling model, followed by the GLC SUV.
Furthermore, the company also saw high demand for GLE and GLS SUV, alongside the S-class, the release added.
In addition, the demand for AMG and Super Luxury Car segment grew by 35%, the company added.
The global supply challenges, semi-conductor shortage and rising input costs have plagued the global auto industry for a couple of years, and the luxury carmaker wasn’t spared either. However, it is striving to reduce the waiting period of most of its models.
