The SUV is set to be launched on August 9, 2023; it will be larger than its predecessor and will get ISG assisted engines with 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard.

Mercedes Benz India has announced the commencement of bookings for the upcoming GLC at INR 1.5 lakh. The SUV is set to be launched on August 9, 2023.

The New GLC will be available in two variants, the  300 4MATIC and the 220d 4MATIC, featuring all-wheel 4MATIC as standard.

The company noted that the new model will be larger than its predecessor and will get ISG assisted engines with 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard. Besides the new SUV will also be the first SUV in the company’s portfolio to get the latest NTG 7 infotainment system.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, noted that GLC has been the company’s highest selling SUV in India and a key SUV across all global markets.

In H1CY23 the company clocked a 13% YoY growth in sales to 8,528 units as against 7,573 units sold in the same time last year. In addition to the best-ever H1 results, the company set a new benchmark in its Q2 sales, selling 3,831 units, representing an 8% YoY jump.

The German carmaker noted that the demand for high-end Mercedes-Benz and AMG models belonging to the TEV segment continued to outpace other segments, growing at 53% YoY in H1CY23 with the LWB E-Class remaining the best seller for the brand. GLE, on the other hand, became the bestselling SUV model, followed by the GLA SUV in H1 2023.
