Mercedes-Benz has launched it’s first-ever all-electric Mercedes-Maybach in India, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV. Priced at INR 2.25 crore (ex-showroom), this all-electric SUV combines the craftsmanship and elegance synonymous with the Maybach brand with cutting-edge electric mobility technology. This launch further expands Mercedes-Benz’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) portfolio in India, which now includes five models.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV boasts several features that cater to the ultra-luxury market, including the Burmester 4D surround sound system with Dolby Atmos, 15 speakers, and real-time adaptive 'Aerial Grace' driving sound.
This model introduces several sustainability initiatives, such as the use of vegetable-tanned Nappa leather, which incorporates coffee bean shells and plant-based agents, making the leather production process more environmentally friendly. The vehicle’s production is claimed entirely net carbon-neutral, contributing to Mercedes-Benz's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint by 50% per passenger car by 2030.
Key design elements include an upright Mercedes star, a black panel front with chrome accents, and optional two-tone paintwork. The exterior also features distinctive 21 or 22-inch alloy wheels and illuminated running boards, enhancing its presence on the road. The interior, characterised by the MBUX Hyperscreen and bespoke Maybach animations, is designed to provide a fusion of tradition and modern technology. Rear passengers are treated with Executive seats, massage functions, and high-end rear-seat entertainment options.
In addition to its luxury features, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is equipped with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and AIRMATIC air suspension, providing a smooth ride across various terrains. Its rear-axle steering improves manoeuvrability, while the exclusive MAYBACH driving program enhances passenger comfort by reducing body movement during travel.
Charging the SUV is also efficient, with the ability to reach 10-80% charge in 31 minutes using a fast-charging station. It can also achieve 300 kilometres of range in 20 minutes of charging, making it convenient for long-distance drivers.
