India’s first dedicated Maybach facility will open in Hyderabad this month. Dubbed the Maybach Lounge, it will integrate into the existing Mercedes showrooms and display the three-model Maybach range that the automaker currently has on sale in India. Mercedes has tasted great success with its top-end models in 2024, and the Maybach range sits right at the top of the Mercedes totem pole.

While the facility in Hyderabad will be its first, it will not be its last with company sources indicating potential lounges like Delhi, Gurgaon and Mumbai. What’s more, India is now on the top-ten list for Maybach demand globally and also has the honour of being one of the few places outside of Germany that gets a locally assembled Maybach model. In this case, it is the S 580 Maybach and has been locally assembled for quite a while now.

The announcement for the first-ever Maybach Lounge was made during the launch of the Maybach EQS 680 SUV. This is the first electric Maybach for India and the Mercedes family as a whole. Standing at 5.1 meters with a wheelbase of 3.2 meters, the EQS Maybach picks up the cues from its ICE siblings with the same idea in terms of features, space and powerful drivetrain. It has a claimed range of 611km with a 0-100kmph time of 4.4 seconds.
