Mercedes-Benz India Unveils EQA 250+, EQB 350 BEVs For Young, Active Consumers

With the introduction of EQA 250+ and EQB 350 five-seater BEVs, the company plans to have 6 BEVs by end of 2024, offering a BEV suited to each customer’s preference and requirements.

Targeting young individuals and active families who are early adopters of e-mobility, trendsetters, and environmentally conscious consumers, Mercedes-Benz India has introduced two new Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) from its global portfolio. While the all India ex-showroom of EQA 250+ is INR 66 lakh the new EQB 350 SUV (5-seater) is offered for INR 77.5 lakh.

These luxury BEVs are designed to enhance the company’s offerings with extended range, daily usability, dynamic driving experiences, attractive Total Cost of Ownership, and improved residual value.

With these launches, the company augments its EV roadmap for the Indian market, aiming to offer a robust BEV portfolio of six world-class products by the end of this year. By the end of 2024, the company plans to have a BEV in each segment, catering to diverse customer needs—from the EQA 250+ to the luxurious EQS Maybach SUV. Additionally, it is steadily building a comprehensive charging infrastructure across its franchise partner network, featuring DC Fast and Ultra-Fast Chargers (60 kW and 180 kW), and providing complimentary AC wall box chargers to customers with every BEV purchase.

EQA 250

The EQA 250+ seamlessly combines 'Progressive Design' and 'Intuitive Technology,' delivering the iconic Mercedes-Benz experience in an all-electric package for modern customers. Its dynamic SUV body not only exudes style but also promises a thrilling driving experience while maintaining everyday practicality. The EQA 250+ features the standard ‘Electric Art’ package, enhancing its progressive design and elegant looks. This package includes a star-pattern grille with a central star, stylish 19-inch light-alloy wheels, and a continuous light strip that emphasizes the car's identity within the Mercedes-Benz EV family. Inside, the Electric Art package boasts rosé gold highlights on the upholstery and air vents, along with a backlit trim that creates a futuristic and luxurious ambiance.

'Today the youth is highly individualistic having active lifestyle, focused on personal development and of course social responsibility. These customers of EQA are similar - salaried, professional, budding business people, entrepreneurs. They are young, possibly married, and combined household income of more than one crore. They love to stand out from the crowd and for sure the EQA is a best fit for them,' Iyer said. 

EQB 350 4MATIC

The new EQB 350 4MATIC, now available in a five-seater configuration for the first time in India, offers premium upgrades with an attractive AMG Line exterior and a luxurious interior. It features the latest MBUX Gen 2 technology with improved voice control, augmented reality navigation, and a host of driving assistance systems such as Distronic Active Distance Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist. The EQB 350 4MATIC sets a new benchmark in the luxury BEV segment, providing performance and versatility tailored to the diverse needs of young, active families. Its significant updates and new features enhance the EQB's appeal, making it a compelling choice for early adopters of luxury electric vehicles.

New EQB 350 4MATIC Highlights

The new EQB 350 4MATIC boasts several impressive updates and enhancements. The exterior and interior design have been refreshed, featuring a newly designed black panel surface with a star pattern at the front that aligns with its larger model siblings. A redesigned bumper further enhances the vehicle's visual appeal. Inside, the EQB offers a range of trim options, including brown lime open-pore wood and backlit Mercedes-Benz patterns, adding to its luxurious feel.

Technical optimisations have extended the EQB's range to up to 447 kilometers according to WLTP standards. These enhancements include aerodynamic improvements and rolling-resistance-optimised tires, ensuring a more efficient and longer driving experience.

For an immersive auditory experience, the EQB is equipped with the Burmester Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos, featuring 12 speakers and a 710-watt power output. Additionally, it includes the updated MBUX generation-2 system, which offers enhanced customisation options for the central display and improved presentations of charging features.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services offers easy financial solutions through their Star Agility programme, making ownership more accessible with a 20% downpayment upfront for a 4-year tenure and an approximate EMI of INR 68,000. Additionally, the EQA 250+ comes with an assured buy-back value of 67%.

The EQA 250+ also provides a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. Estimated total annual savings with the EQA 250+ are around INR 240,000 at the end of four years, assuming the vehicle is driven approximately 2,000 km per month.
