McLaren has officially introduced the new GTS, marking its entry into the McLaren lineup as a replacement for the GT. The GTS is designed to offer drivers a perfect blend of McLaren's renowned driving dynamics, high performance, and the comfort and practicality needed for everyday drives and extended journeys.
Retaining McLaren's core features of beautiful design and a class-leading power-to-weight ratio, the GTS is not only visually more powerful but also offers an expanded choice of exterior and interior specifications.
The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine now produces 626 bhp, an increase of 14.8 bhp over the GT, resulting in a segment-best power-to-weight ratio of 412 bhp per tonne.
The GTS accelerates from 0-100kmph in just 3.2 seconds and achieves 0-200kmph in 8.9 seconds. Its maximum speed is an impressive 326kmph.
The exterior enhancements include a redesigned front bumper section with more pronounced air intakes, and taller air scoops on the rear fenders, both offering improved airflow to the V8 engine. The rear features a large diffuser and dual exhausts, contributing to a thrilling supercar soundtrack.
The GTS showcases McLaren's commitment to sustainability with a roof panel made from recycled carbon fibre and a carbon fibre rear upper structure, both contributing to low weight and a low centre of gravity.
In addition to superior driving dynamics, the GTS excels in practicality. Its 570 litres of cargo space, accessed through a front-hinged, full-length glass tailgate, makes it the most practical new supercar available. The vehicle lift function raises the nose in just four seconds, enhancing urban usability.
Inside, the GTS boasts a refined and luxurious cabin with a mix of materials selected for a performance-driven yet comfortable ambiance. The interior features Softgrain Aniline Leather seats with double-piping pattern and updated contrast stitching. The 10.25-inch digital instrument display and 7-inch central touchscreen infotainment system provide a clear view of vital information and seamless connectivity.
The GTS is available for order now, with deliveries scheduled for 2024. With its unparalleled blend of performance, comfort, and practicality, the McLaren GTS aims to redefine the supercar experience.
