Maxxis Tyres on Wednesday announced that it plans to add 40 new dealers by the end of this fiscal year.
With this, the total tally of the company’s dealerships in India has reached 3,000 broadly spread across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana. During the pandemic in FY21, the company added over 800 dealerships to enhance customer accessibility in rural India.
Chu Tsang Chih (Kurachi), Director, Maxxis India, said the company aims to get 15% of India’s two-wheeler tyre market by 2023 and the expansion of dealerships is a step in this direction. The company hopes to enhance its footprint by consolidating its current channel partners and adding more dealers. “Our aim is to enhance Maxxis network to 5% by end of this fiscal,” he said.
The pandemic has led to many disruptions, however, expansion of the dealership network is a big step towards building positivity in the sombre automobile market currently.
Maxxis is trying to set up at least one dealership with a population of more than 30,000, the company added.
