Leading Indian carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has announced the crossing of the three million sales mark for the WagonR since inception.
Launched in 1999, the hatchback from the carmaker is currently in its fifth generation form. Notably, the vehicle has remained one the best sellers in the market over the years and in FY23, it registered sales of 212,340 units, making it the bestselling PV in the market.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer- Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, noted that the WagonR has seen 24% of buyers as repeat buyers.
In its current form, the WagonR underpins the company’s fifth-gen HEARTECT platform and is offered with two advanced K-series Dual Jet, Dual VVT with Idle Start Stop (ISS) engine options (1.0L and 1.2L) combined with manual and AGS transmission.
On the safety front, it gets ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control and hill-hold in AGS.
