Vayu Veer Vijeta Car Rally mobility outlook

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced its partnership with the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the Vayu Veer Vijeta Rally, a car rally that pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of fallen soldiers. The rally will cover 7,000 km, traversing challenging landscapes from Thoise in Ladakh to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. A fleet of 12 Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUVs will be driven by 52 IAF personnel, including Air Warriors, women officers, and veterans.

The rally started with a ceremonial flag-off on 1st October 2024 by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at the National War Memorial in Delhi, and will be formally flagged off on Air Force Day, 8th October, at Thoise Air Force Station, one of the world’s highest military airbases. Three former Air Force Chiefs will join different segments of the journey, further highlighting the rally’s significance.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUVs will navigate through mixed terrains demonstrating their off-road capabilities. The convoy will travel through locations such as Leh, Kargil, Srinagar, Jammu, Chandigarh, and Dehradun, making stops at 16 locations and holding 20 interactions with students and youth. These interactions aim to inspire young people to consider careers in the Indian Armed Forces. Supported by the Progress, Harmony, and Development Chambers of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), the rally highlights the difficulties faced by soldiers while performing their duties at the borders.
