Leading Indian carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Monday commenced the pre-bookings for the new Brezza at INR 11,000, which will be sold under the ARENA brand. Interestingly, with its new update, the compact SUV lets go of its ‘Vitara’ prefix.
Updates to the vehicle include an all-new facia with dual strip DRLs and a new rear design. While under the hood, it gets the new Next-Gen Smart Hybrid K-Series Engine (presumably the one in the Ertiga) paired with a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission with Paddle Shifters.
A press release from the company also stated that the SUV will feature connected technology, an electric sunroof, and safety features, including six airbags and ESP.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director- Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, noted that the compact SUV has sold over 7.5 lakh units over the course of six years.
CV Raman, Chief Technical Officer (Engineering), Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Brezza has a very special place in our portfolio. It was the first product which was conceptualised, designed and developed in India by Maruti Suzuki.”
Expected to be launched on June 30, 2022, the SUV will rival the likes of the newly launched Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the Mahindra XUV 300.
