Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched the Swift S-CNG, offering a fuel economy of 32.85 km/kg. Available in three variants: VXi, VXi (O), and ZXi, the Swift S-CNG is competitively priced, with the VXi variant starting at INR 8.19 lakh (all prices ex-showroom), the VXi (O) at INR 8.46 lakh, and the top-tier ZXi variant priced at INR 9.19 lakh. Maruti Suzuki also offers a subscription model for customers, allowing them to drive the new Swift S-CNG with an all-inclusive monthly fee starting at INR 21,628. This subscription model covers registration, service and maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance, offering a hassle-free car ownership experience.
The Swift S-CNG is powered by Maruti’s all-new Z-series Dual VVT engine, which delivers 101.8 Nm of torque at 2900 rpm in CNG mode, optimising performance for city driving. This makes the Swift S-CNG not only an environmentally friendly option but also a practical and efficient vehicle for urban commuters. The vehicle comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission across all its variants, ensuring an engaging and smooth driving experience.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, noted that the Swift brand has long been associated with style and performance, and with the addition of the S-CNG variant, it is poised to reach new heights. Banerjee highlighted the fuel efficiency, which has improved by more than 6% compared to its predecessor, further emphasising Maruti Suzuki's commitment to meeting the aspirations of Indian customers.
Maruti Suzuki has been a leader in the CNG segment in India, having introduced CNG-powered vehicles back in 2010. Since then, the company has sold over 2 million S-CNG units, contributing to a reduction of 2 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. The Swift S-CNG joins Maruti Suzuki’s comprehensive lineup of 14 S-CNG models, spanning various body styles, making it the largest CNG vehicle range offered by any manufacturer in India.
