Maruti Suzuki Kickstarts Pre-Bookings For The New Swift At INR 11,000 mobility outlook

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the commencement of pre-bookings for the 4th generation Swift. Available for an initial booking amount of INR 11,000, the latest iteration of this hatchback promises to enhance its sporty appeal and practicality in the premium hatchback segment.

Since its debut, the Swift has captivated over 29 lakh customers with its accessible performance and sporty design, consistently setting the bales enchmark in its segment. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki, highlighted the Swift’s evolution, stating, 'The Swift has been an iconic brand for Maruti Suzuki, evolving with the times to redefine customer expectations. With its strong customer base and numerous accolades, the Epic New Swift is set to continue this tradition and push the boundaries of the ‘Joy of Mobility’.'

These include a refreshed exterior with new headlamps, tail lamps, and a revised placement of the rear door handles, moving them from the pillar to a more conventional position. The interior sees updates such as a new touchscreen, instrument cluster, and a minimalist centre console design, aligning with global standards and expectations.

The new-gen Swift is expected to inherit advanced features from its Japanese counterpart, including a 360-degree camera, level-2 ADAS, and a heads-up display, which are likely to be included in the India-spec model, enhancing safety and convenience for Indian drivers.

While continuing with the popular 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki is also poised to introduce new engine technologies. However, the introduction of a three-cylinder hybrid petrol engine remains uncertain for the Indian market due to cost considerations. This strategic decision reflects Maruti Suzuki's focus on maintaining the Swift’s affordability while catering to a market that highly values economic and efficient vehicles.

Despite a stagnant growth in small car sales, Maruti Suzuki’s decision to refresh the Swift aligns with its strategy to bolster its portfolio with minimal investment, leveraging the strong brand equity of the Swift. Additionally, the company’s emphasis on SUVs and BEVs indicates a dual focus on retaining traditional strengths while navigating towards future mobility trends.
