Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) celebrates the first anniversary of the Grand Vitara by posting the fastest one lakh sales of the model. The model has been a multi-product offering in the mid-SUV segment, boasting of an e-CVT transmission that delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl. The host of features like coloured head-up display, ventilated seats and 360-degree parking camera system have shouldered the sales along.
The model comes in 12 variants across Intelligent Electric Hybrid, Progressive Smart Hybrid, Suzuki Allgrip Select and CNG models. On the safety front, the Grand Vitara comes with active and passive safety features, including the recently introduced Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) in its hybrid variant.
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, MSIL, stated that the debut of the Grand Vitara last year heralded a new era. It accelerated the company's growth in the SUV segment. Maruti Suzuki today is first in the SUV segment, with a market share of 22%. Within twelve months since its launch, the Grand Vitara has notched an impressive feat, garnering the adoration of over one lakh customers.”
The model contributes to nearly 20% of Nexa’s overall sales, with a 43% high-income audience.
