Maruti Suzuki has announced the commencement of exports for the Fronx, and the first batch of 556 vehicles was shipped from Mundra, Mumbai and Pipavav Ports to destinations in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, noted that Fronx is an important model in the portfolio, and the company is confident that it will augment its ambitious export plans.
Launched in April 2023, the Fronx is offered with two petrol engine options - the 1.2L K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine offers Idle Start-Stop technology and comes mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AGS transmission and puts out 90 PS of power and 113Nm of torque.
While a 1.0L K-Series Boosterjet petrol engine comes with Progressive Smart Hybrid technology mated with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox with steering-mounted paddle shifters, churning 100 PS of power and 148 Nm of torque.
