Leading Indian carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday launched the facelift of its only SUV, Brezza at INR 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom, India for the entry level LXI MT trim level. To be sold through the ARENA channel, the product is also available under the company’s subscription model at INR 18,300 monthly charges.
Available across 11 variants, the sub-compact SUV, along with the aesthetic changes has also undergone a brand change with the removal of the ‘Vitara’ pre-fix from the name.

The sub-compact SUV features an all-new facia with dual strip DRLs with new bumper design and at the back it gets new taillight design along with updated bumper design. The side profile too sees a new design with body lines and new dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels.
Speaking of dimensions, the vehicle retains its footprint as earlier, measuring at 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width and a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. However, the new model has an increased height of 1,685 mm as compared to 1,640 mm of the previous model.
The company has gone for updates under the hood as well. The new SUV from MSIL comes with the new next-gen smart hybrid K-Series 1.5 l petrol engine, same as the one in the Ertiga, churning out 102 hp and 136.8 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
On the inside, the new Brezza gets head-up display, a nine inch Smartplay Pro+ infotainment screen, TFT multi information display, a 360-degree view camera, electric sunroof and Suzuki connect with 40 connected features including trip analysis, driver behaviour, remote operations, vehicle tracking, and safety alerts among others.
Besides, it also gets auto headlamps, Rear AC vents, cooled glovebox, rear fast-charging USB ports including A & C type and toggle control auto AC panel to name a few. Alongside, customers can choose between two personalisation options, including Terrascape and Metroscape.
The “Terrascape” theme has been designed on the rugged side for exterior and interior styling options such as front and rear bumper garnish, side cladding, rear upper spoiler extender, rear mid garnish and others. The “Metroscape” package, on the other hand, has been styled on the urban side for exterior and interior styling options such as front and rear bumper garnish, body side moulding, fog lamp garnish, window frame kit, and wheel arch garnish to name a few.
From a safety standpoint, the company has offered on the Brezza six airbags, hill hold function, cruise control, electronic stability control, reverse parking sensors, high-speed alert system, and ISOFIX child seat restraint system, among others.
Massive Response
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said, “Brezza has sold over 750,000 units and has ruled the sales charts by consistently being among the top 10 best-selling passenger vehicles.”
Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India said the Brezza has helped the company to be the leader in the B-segment for the last five years. “First time buyers for Brezza went up from 27% in 2016 to 38% in 2021, while the under 35 age group customers for the product went up from 35% to 44%,” he explained.
He added that the new model has already garnered 45,000 bookings since bookings commenced eight days ago.
