Maruti Suzuki India Limited has commenced commercial production at its new manufacturing facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana. The foundation stone for the Kharkhoda plant was virtually laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2022.
The Kharkhoda plant will initially have an annual production capacity of 250,000 units, with the compact SUV Brezza being the first model to roll off the assembly line. This development adds to Maruti Suzuki’s already extensive manufacturing capabilities, which include its existing plants and the wholly owned subsidiary Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited. With the new facility operational, Maruti Suzuki's total annual production capacity now stands at 2.6 million units.
The expansion is expected to support Maruti Suzuki’s goal of catering to increasing domestic and export demand while further strengthening its position as India's leading automobile manufacturer. The move aligns with the company's long-term strategy of enhancing production efficiency and meeting evolving market needs.
