Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has taken a significant step towards enhancing road safety with the completion of its first automated driving test track (ADTT) at the Driver Training and Testing Institute (DTTI) in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh (UP). The inauguration of the Ayodhya ADTT was officiated by Dayashankar Singh, Minister of State (Independent charge) of Transport, UP.
Rahul Bharti, Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, MSIL, expressed gratitude to the Government of Uttar Pradesh for enabling the automation of the driving test track in Ayodhya. With Ayodhya witnessing an increased influx of visitors, the automated driving test tracks aim to ensure the availability of skilled drivers for safe last-mile mobility, he added.
Bharti further elaborated on Maruti Suzuki's commitment to road safety, announcing plans to automate DTTIs in Gorakhpur, Mathura, Prayagraj, and Varanasi, which will be operational soon.
Key Features
The newly inaugurated automated driving license test track is equipped with high-definition cameras and an integrated IT system, enhancing testing comprehensiveness, efficiency, and transparency. Capable of testing both Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) applicants, the facility also features a separate serpentine track for two-wheeler applicant testing. Evaluation procedures adhere to the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR).
