Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has announced the winners of Cohort 6 of its Mobility & Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL) programme. The leading Indian carmaker has been running this initiative to identify and bring together start-ups with innovative and cutting-edge solutions, to collaborate for open innovation in the mobility and automobile space.
The top three of the five winning start-ups this year – mSense, automaxis and Keploy – will undertake a paid Proof-of-Concept (PoC) with Maruti Suzuki. The PoC will help assess the feasibility of the solutions in real-world conditions, said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India.
The two other winners of Cohort 6 are AngelTech Logistics and AutoWiz.
Speaking about the initiative, Takeuchi said the company has worked with various start-ups to co-create innovative business solutions in the mobility and automobile space since the initiation of the MAIL programme in 2019. “In the latest round (Cohort 6) of this programme, the start-ups demonstrated interesting and innovative technology solutions in areas like Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. We are excited to further explore the power of technology,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki India has also started inviting applications for Cohort 8 of the MAIL programme from start-ups offering solutions in digital, technology, mobility, and automobile space.
