Maruti Suzuki on Monday launched its new flagship, the Grand Vitara, starting at INR 10.45 lakh, ex-showroom, while topping off at INR 17.05 lakh for the ‘smart hybrid’ range.
Meanwhile the ‘intelligent hybrid’ range is only available in the Zeta+ and Alpha+ trim levels and is priced from INR 17.99 lakh to INR 19.65 lakh.
The Grand Vitara can also be owned through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe at an all-inclusive monthly subscription fee starting from INR 27,000.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said the SUV has garnered over 57,000 bookings since its debut in July.
The ‘smart hybrid’ range is powered by the 1.5 l K-series engine with neo drive churning out 75 kW of power and 135 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed auto.
The 'intelligent hybrid' range gets the Toyota-developed 1.5-litre engine paired with an e-CVT transmission. This powertrain produces a total output of 85 kW: the engine produces 68 kW and 122 Nm of torque, while the motor produces 59 kW and 141 Nm of torque.
All the variants will feature four driving modes: auto, sand, snow and lock. The strong hybrid version has a fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl, while the manual transmission variant of the mild hybrid offers 21.11 kmpl. This is 20.58 kmpl for the AT and 19.38 kmpl for the ALLGRIP MT AWD variant.
The strong hybrid version also offers an extended five year/one lakh kilometres with NEXA accessory pack at INR 67,000 over the standard eight years or 160,000 km warranty on the Li-ion battery pack.
Maruti has packed the Grand Vitara with a panoramic sunroof and dual sliding panes, wireless phone charging dock, coloured head-up-display, 360-degree parking camera system, in-built Suzuki Connect technology, Smart Play Pro+ Infotainment system, ventilated front seats among other features.
With six monotone colour options and three dual-tone colour options on offer, the vehicle can be customised using the two packages: Enigmax and Enigmax X. Based on the Suzuki TECT platform the SUV gets six airbags, electronic stability program with hill hold assist, 3-point ELR seat belts (all seats) and rear disc brake and TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) as standard.
