Maruti Suzuki India has achieved record exports of 263,068 units in CY22 which is 28% over the previous record of 205,450 vehicles shipped out in CY21.

The tally was also more than twice what was exported pre-Covid.

The highest exported models bwere Dzire, Swift, S-Presso, Baleno and Brezza.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said the achievement aligns with the company’s commitment to the Centre’s ‘Make in India’ initiative to manufacture products for global customers.

“We are thankful for the support from our parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation to enable us to leverage a wider distribution network across the globe. Further, adding more models to our portfolio helped sustain excitement in the export markets,” he said.

Maruti Suzuki exports 16 models to around 100 countries including Africa, Middle East, Latin America, ASEAN and neighboring regions. It's global alliance with Toyota is expected to fuel the export drive even further in the coming years.

It is also an indication of the growing importance of India to Suzuki beyond being merely its largest market worldwide. Increasingly, the R&D competencies available here will play a big role in product development and powering overseas shipments.
