Marelli has officially partnered with the Nissan Formula E Team as a technical collaborator marking an important move in both companies’ efforts to advance electrified motorsport. Under this two-year agreement, Marelli will lend its extensive expertise in automotive innovation to support the development of Nissan’s Formula E cars, as the team seeks to gain a competitive edge in the high-stakes electric racing championship.
Marelli’s logo will also feature prominently on the rear wing of Nissan’s cars, in the team’s garage, and on marketing platforms, signifying a strengthened collaboration between the two companies.
Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of the Nissan Formula E Team, highlighted the value of Marelli’s technical insights, especially in areas like control systems development, which play a crucial role in the high-paced environment of Formula E. According to Volpe, teaming up with Marelli positions Nissan well within the competitive Formula E landscape by ensuring collaboration with one of the top-tier automotive technology firms.
Marelli’s Head of Motorsport, Riccardo De Filippi, sees this partnership as a chance to showcase Marelli’s expertise in electric vehicle technology while contributing meaningfully to the advancements in Nissan’s Formula E programme. He added that Marelli’s involvement in Formula E aligns with its broader goal of shaping the future of mobility through innovation.
