Marelli Appoints Saju Mookken mobility outlook

Marelli has appointed Saju Mookken as the India Country Manager. His appointment is aimed at advancing the company’s strategic direction and growth initiatives in one of the world’s largest automotive markets. With over 25 years of experience in the sector, Mookken is expected to reinforce Marelli’s operational framework and strengthen its local presence capitalising on India’s growing prominence as the third largest automotive market globally.

Mookken, who has been a part of Marelli for nearly two decades, has been instrumental in establishing the company’s foothold in India. His new responsibilities will include overseeing governance, coordinating business activities, and enhancing employee engagement. In addition to his role as Country Manager, Mookken will continue as the regional Head of Propulsion Solutions for the Asia-Pacific region, excluding China, reflecting his extensive experience and leadership within the industry.

Before joining Marelli, Mookken held a board position at Denso Group where he managed Finance, IT, Commercial and Sales, and Purchasing operations. He is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi University, bringing a strong financial and operational background to his role at Marelli.

The leadership transition also marks a shift for Ravi Tallapragada, who has served as India Country Manager for the past two years. Tallapragada will now focus entirely on his responsibilities as President of Marelli’s Electronic Systems business on a global scale, a role that has gained importance with the rise of software-defined vehicles and increased demand for advanced electronic systems.
