MG Select has revealed that the MG Cyberster roadster will be precision-tuned by former Italian Formula 1 engineer Marco Fainello to deliver an unparalleled driving experience with advanced engineering and retro-inspired design. A powered by a dual-motor powertrain that generates an impressive 503 bhp and 725 Nm of torque, its capabilities ensure rapid acceleration and high-speed performance catering to performance enthusiasts. The advanced motor features 8-layer flat wire winding and a waterfall oil-cooled system, which enhances power output, efficiency, and reliability, even at high operating temperatures.
Paying homage to the classic MG B Roadster of the 1960s, the Cyberster blends retro aesthetics with futuristic innovations. Its aerodynamic Kammback design provides a sporty profile, improving lateral stability and reducing body roll. A balanced 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution and advanced suspension systems—double wishbone at the front and five-link independent at the rear—ensure smooth handling and exceptional road traction.
The Cyberster also marks a first in India with electric scissor doors, equipped with dual radar sensors for enhanced safety. These sensors provide protection during door operation, combined with an anti-pinch bounce-back feature for added security. The vehicle's design exemplifies MG's commitment to innovation, offering both performance and advanced safety.
MG Select plans to establish 12 luxury showrooms in major Indian cities and aims to launch four premium vehicles by 2026. The Cyberster is slated for its official launch in January 2025, setting a new benchmark for luxury electric vehicles in India.
