These top-tier ratings place MAHLE among the global leaders in corporate sustainability, reinforcing its status as a “Leadership” category company in environmental stewardship.

The MAHLE Group has been recognized for its outstanding commitment to climate and environmental protection, earning an 'A' rating in Climate Change and an improved 'A-' rating in Water Security from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in its 2024 assessment.

CDP’s prestigious 'A' rating is awarded to companies that demonstrate exceptional leadership in climate action, showcasing a comprehensive strategy to mitigate climate risks and reduce emissions.

Georg Dietz, Member of the Management Board of MAHLE Group, emphasized the significance of this recognition, stating, “This excellent rating is a testament to the success of our sustainability strategy and sends a strong message to our customers, business partners, investors, and employees.”

Since its 2019 baseline year, MAHLE has achieved remarkable progress in reducing CO₂ emissions:

    • Scope 1 & 2 emissions (from direct energy consumption) have been cut by 47%.
    • Scope 3 emissions (from supply chains and product usage) have been reduced by 17%.

Kathrin Apel, Director of Corporate Sustainability at MAHLE, highlighted the key drivers behind this progress, stating that integrating advanced technologies, optimizing internal processes, expanding renewable energy use, and transitioning from fossil fuels to electricity have all played a critical role.

Sustainability – A Strategic Imperative

MAHLE has positioned climate protection as a core corporate objective, aligning its strategies with the Paris Climate Agreement to drive sustainable transformation in the automotive industry. The company has committed to achieving climate neutrality across its operations by 2040 and aims to cut Scope 3 emissions by 28% by 2030.

As part of its commitment, MAHLE is focusing on eco-friendly product development, incorporating recycled and bio-based materials, and collaborating with suppliers to minimize environmental impact. Since 2021, the company’s energy and emissions data have been externally audited, ensuring transparency and accountability in its sustainability journey.
