Mahindra has value added to the XUV700’s package by introducing a new three-row trim in the entry-level MX variants. Dubbed the MX3 7-seater variant, it can be had with both petrol and diesel power. Prices start at Rs. 14.50 lakh and top out at Rs 15.50 lakh.
The MX three-row variant has the same feature list and safety suite as its two-row siblings which was expected given that is a new variant in the MX line. What makes this variant tantalizing if you are in the market for a basic three-row model is the pricing. The lower-spec MX trim is the same as its five-seat sibling while in the case of the diesel, it’s a maximum of Rs. 50000 as you move up the order.
This is a strategic move by Mahindra as this entry-level variant allows Mahindra to have another three-row model in this part of the market but with a big-budget brand name. The other model is the Bolero Neo Plus which is also a three-row model but is a name that appeals to a different buyer segment. The petrol versions also compete with cars like the Maruti XL6 and Kia Carens.
