Students from Mahindra University have secured second and third places in the highly competitive Babson Collaborative Global Student Challenge 2024. Two teams from the university reached the final round, emerging victorious in a competition that saw participation from 2,414 students representing 25 schools across 20 countries.
The 'Harvested Robotics' team, comprising Rahul Arepaka, Pranav Mogli, Sai Phani, Sanjay Pramod, and Atin Sakeer, secured second place with their innovative project aimed at revolutionising agriculture. Their solution provides farmers with a chemical-free weed management system using advanced lasers and robotics technology.
The third place was clinched by 'Extrive Innovations,' a team consisting of Abhishek Pratap, Ronak Oinam, Prem Ningombam, and Yashaswi Matla. This team developed an ergonomic, cost-effective exoskeleton designed to enhance workplace safety and efficiency. Their project addresses critical issues in occupational health and ergonomics, significantly impacting industrial work environments.
Hosted by Massachusetts-based Babson College, renowned for its academic programme in entrepreneurship, this annual competition focuses on innovative business concepts addressing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
