Mahindra University, Airbus Partner To Drive Innovation In Aerospace, Digital Tech

Mahindra University has entered into a strategic partnership with Airbus, a global leader in aeronautics and space, to advance innovation, education, and research in aerospace and digital technologies.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University, and Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus India and South Asia, was witnessed by Anand Mahindra, Chancellor, Mahindra University.

The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by leveraging the strengths of both organisations. It will focus on curriculum development, industry training, faculty and student exchanges, and advanced research in fields such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and cybersecurity. The partnership also encompasses internships, placement opportunities, and joint events like symposiums and workshops, along with connections to international institutes for aerospace-related projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Anand Mahindra said, “We are truly honoured to strengthen our partnership with Airbus India. This collaboration reflects Airbus’s recognition of the value Mahindra Group brings to the aerospace and technology sectors. We thank Airbus for their trust and look forward to building the future together.”

Dr Medury highlighted the transformative impact of the partnership, stating, “This MoU marks a transformative step for Mahindra University in aligning academia with industry needs. The association with Airbus India will enable our students with unparalleled exposure to cutting-edge advancements in aerospace and digital technologies. Together, we aim to nurture a generation of global professionals equipped to address the challenges of tomorrow.”

Maillard emphasised Airbus’s commitment to nurturing talent in India. “Human capital is the foundation of the aerospace ecosystem Airbus is developing in the country. This collaboration with Mahindra University is part of our efforts to broad-base our engagement with academia and nurture a large talent pool that will be required to power India's aerospace industry. Students will benefit from the coming together of Airbus expertise and Mahindra University's excellent curriculum and faculty.”

This partnership is aligned with Mahindra University’s mission to offer industry-relevant education and Airbus’s global vision of advancing aerospace innovation. It provides students with opportunities to work on real-world projects, gaining valuable insights from Airbus, while fostering a collaborative relationship between academia and industry.
