Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector has introduced a new heavy-duty rotavator - Mahavator in Tamil Nadu, specially designed for hard soils and to deal with hard crop residue like sugarcane cotton.

According to the company, the implement can efficiently crush soil clods and finely pulverise soil for healthy plant growth.

Designed and developed by Mahindra’s R&D centres in India & Europe, the rotavators are tested across the country in different field conditions to ensure suitability and reliability.

Manufactured at its three factories in India, the rotavators will be retailed through 34 dealers in Tamil Nadu.

To ease cash flow issues for farmers who wish to buy both a tractor and rotavator simultaneously, the company has joined hands with Mahindra Finance to bring convenient loan schemes to offer loans up to INR 85,000 on a rotavator depending on the variant.

The company has also launched rotavator blades branded as Boroblades. These are fitted on factory manufactured rotavators and are supplied as spares through its network of dealers and spares retailers.

Kairas Vakharia, Senior Vice President, Farm Machinery, M&M, said the company introduced its Gyrovator about ten years ago and is leading in the category representing one in three light soil rotavators. “With the introduction of the Mahindra Mahavator, we at Mahindra aim to extend our leadership in light soil rotavators to that of the heavy-duty segment,” he said.

Besides Mahavator and Gyrovator, Mahindra has a full range of rotavators for wetland, dryland, vineyards and orchards. These rotavators are compatible with a range of tractors from 15 Hp to 70 Hp.

The company said that the equipment comes with up to two years warranty, depending on the rotavator, compared to a six-month warranty offered by other manufacturers.
