Mahindra has added a new AX5 Select variant to the XUV700 lineup, with prices starting at Rs. 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom). According to the company, this new variant aims to make luxury features accessible to a wider audience by offering them at an attractive price point.
On the outside, the XUV700 AX5 Select variant features full-sized wheel covers, LED taillights, follow-me-home headlamps, LED DRLs, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. This version is available exclusively in the seven-seat layout.
Inside, this new variant is loaded with a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25-inch screens, AdrenoX connected car technology, wireless mobile connectivity, engine start-stop button, tilt adjustable steering, ISOFIX mounts, front centre armrest with storage function, and more.
The launch of the new AX5 Select variant comes short on the heels of Mahindra introducing an entry-level MX variant with a seven-seat layout and the top-spec Blaze Edition which gets an exclusive Matte Blaze Red colour in the XUV700 range. The reason behind this move by Mahindra to offer new variants in quick succession could be that it has increased the production of the SUV, which has further resulted in a sharp fall in open bookings.
