Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced the Thar ROXX, a new SUV designed to disrupt the segment and redefine the SUV landscape in India. Priced starting at INR 12.99 Lakh, the vehicle offers a blend of rugged performance and luxury features. Built on the new M_GLYDE platform, the SUV ensures a smooth ride, crisp handling, and class-leading dynamics.
The Thar ROXX has undergone rigorous testing in extreme conditions across diverse terrains, including the Thar desert, Umling La, Coorg, and Kaza, ensuring it is a robust and reliable choice for the modern Indian with a global mindset.
According to Veejay Nakra, President of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, the vehicle builds on the Thar brand's legacy of symbolising freedom and community, offering a refined drive, powerful performance, superior off-roading capability, and advanced technology. The company aims to make the Thar brand the No. 1 SUV in its segment by volume within the next three to five years.
R Velusamy, President of Automotive Technology and Product Development at Mahindra, stated that the Thar ROXX represents a new era of refined body-on-frame SUVs, blending urban sophistication with off-road capabilities. With features like a panoramic Skyroof, Level 2 ADAS, and a Harman Kardon audio system, it sets new benchmarks in luxury and safety.
Bookings for the Thar ROXX will open online and at Mahindra dealerships from October 3, 2024, with test drives starting on September 14, 2024. Deliveries are scheduled to commence during Dussehra.
The Thar ROXX, designed at the Mahindra India Design Studio in Mumbai, engineered at the Mahindra Research Valley near Chennai, and developed and tested at the Mahindra SUV Proving Track, is manufactured at Mahindra's advanced facility in Nashik. It reflects the expertise and innovation of Mahindra’s global design and engineering teams.
