Mahindra Aerostructures Bags 737 Component & Sub-Assemblies Order

The company will ramp up in synchronisation with Boeing’s planned increase in 737 production rates and will directly supply the parts and sub-assemblies to Boeing facilities in the US.

Mahindra has received an order to manufacture and supply inlet outer barrel components and sub-assemblies for Boeing’s 737 MAX single-aisle jetliner. 

Mahindra will start production of the contracted components and sub-assemblies in 2023 at its state-of-the-art facility in Narsapura, near Bengaluru.  

According to SP Shukla, Member of the Group Executive Board of Mahindra Group, and Group President, Defence, Aero & Agri sector, the contract is another step in Mahindra Group’s journey with Boeing to support the Indian Government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. 

The company will also ensure that its delivery rates will ramp up in synchronisation with Boeing’s planned increase in 737 production rates. 

It will directly supply the 737 Max parts and sub-assemblies to Boeing facilities in the US under the new contract terms.

Arvind Mehra, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Aerostructures, said the contract award was a testament to the company’s delivery and quality performance which was sustained even during the pandemic. 

The company operates out of its 250,000 sq ft facility in Bengaluru, which can undertake sheet metal, machining, surface treatment, and assemblies work. The aerostructure provider exports to customers in the UK, Europe, Japan, and the US.
