Magenta Mobility Launches

Magenta Mobility has unveiled 'Project 302' initiative aimed at decarbonising logistics operations in Bhiwandi, one of India’s largest warehousing hubs. This project marks the inauguration of a new office and charging depot in Bhiwandi, utilising the hub-and-spoke model to deploy electric vehicles (EVs).

Project 302 is a strategic move by Magenta Mobility to enhance its services to the e-commerce, FMCG, FCMD, and logistics sectors in the region, aligning with the company's vision for a sustainable future. In support of this expansion, Magenta plans to hire 200 local Delivery Executives (DEs) to operate the EV fleets, creating substantial employment opportunities in logistics, charging operations, and field services.

Bhiwandi, known for its vast warehousing space of 25 million square feet, is a key location for the logistics and e-commerce industries owing to its robust infrastructure and connectivity. The area’s proximity to major cities and ports, along with infrastructure developments like Metro Line 5 and government support, make it an optimal site for Magenta’s operations. This location will enable Magenta Mobility to enhance its service offerings and operational efficiency in Western India, particularly benefiting from its connection to the Mumbai-Nashik Expressway and the Western Express Highway.

The new office will embody sustainability practices by maximising natural light to reduce HVAC electricity consumption, going paperless, and minimising single-use plastic through reusable cups and recycled paper bags. Additionally, Magenta Mobility has partnered with an e-waste management company to manage and recycle e-waste generated from its operations.
