Magenta Mobility, a leading integrated electric mobility solutions provider, and Switch Mobility, the electric vehicle arm of the Hinduja Group, have announced a strategic partnership to procure 500 SWITCH IeV4 (Intelligent EV) vehicles over the next two years. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was marked by a key handover and vehicle flag-off attended by Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO of Magenta Mobility, and Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch Mobility, along with several clients.
By integrating Switch Mobility's advanced electric vehicle technology with Magenta Mobility's comprehensive service portfolio encompassing logistics, charging, and technology solutions, the partnership seeks to establish new standards within the EV logistics and transportation sector.
The SWITCH IeV4 boasts a 32.2 kWh battery, a 1,700 kg payload capacity, and a spacious cargo area, delivering a range of 120 km. Its 60 kW motor and 230 Nm torque provide better performance, while the SWITCH iON system—a proprietary, connected technology telematics solution—enables smarter and more cost-effective fleet operations.
This partnership aligns with Magenta Mobility's growth plans for FY 24-25 to strengthen the eLCV segment and contributes to its ambitious 'Ab Ki Baar Dus Hazaar' programme, aiming to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by September 2025.
Lewis said, 'With these eLCVs, we will offer increased payload capacity to our clients, along with our existing fleet management, charging, and technology platforms, providing a strong opportunity for the logistics sector to go electric.'
Babu highlighted the transformative potential of their SWITCH IeV4 electric vehicle, the first eLCV in the 3.5-tonne category in India. Built on a cutting-edge 310V high-voltage architecture, the vehicle offers enhanced performance, higher payload, extended range, and maximised volumetric space, contributing to a significantly better total cost of ownership (TCO).
