Lubi Industries has secured a significant contract with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to supply, install, and commission 1,400 fast DC EV chargers across India. This collaboration is a major step in strengthening the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, aligning with India’s ambitious goals for energy transition and sustainable mobility.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lubi Industries will deliver 60kW fast DC chargers to BPCL retail outlets nationwide, enabling a seamless and efficient charging experience for EV users. This strategic partnership will contribute substantially to the total number of DC chargers set to be installed annually in India, accelerating the widespread adoption of electric vehicles and supporting the growth of India’s green energy sector.
Empowering India’s Green Energy Goals
As the country works towards achieving energy independence and reducing carbon emissions, the project underscores Lubi’s commitment to providing high-quality, locally manufactured EV chargers. The chargers will be built to meet stringent regulatory standards and will ensure maximum uptime, offering a long operational life and efficient charging solutions. This initiative is part of India’s broader vision to develop a sustainable and future-ready EV infrastructure, where indigenization plays a key role in strengthening the nation’s electric mobility ecosystem.
Speaking about the partnership, the management at Lubi Industries expressed their enthusiasm, saying, 'We are honoured to partner with BPCL on this transformative project. Our advanced charging solutions will provide reliable service to EV users, while contributing to India’s vision of a greener, self-sufficient energy future. This collaboration also highlights the importance of building critical infrastructure with locally sourced components, which will play a key role in shaping the EV ecosystem.'
Boosting EV Adoption & Promoting Cleaner Transportation
The rollout of 1,400 fast DC chargers will significantly expand the EV charging network in India, enhancing the convenience and accessibility of charging stations for users across the country. This effort is expected to complement the growing demand for electric vehicles and bolster India’s evolving EV manufacturing sector, further promoting cleaner, greener transportation alternatives.
As Lubi Industries and BPCL lead the charge in transforming India’s EV infrastructure, the project exemplifies the role of public-private collaborations in meeting the challenges of sustainable transportation and energy use. Together, these companies are laying the foundation for an EV-friendly future that will not only support India’s environmental goals but also contribute to its long-term economic growth.
