Lockheed Martin will host the 9th edition of its annual India Suppliers’ Conference on November 2-3 in Bengaluru. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will attend the inaugural seminar of the conference. The conference will bring together senior Lockheed Martin leaders from across business areas and the supply chain, industrial development, and business development teams.

“Lockheed Martin continues to support greater self-reliance in defence for India through accelerating the manufacturing, skilling and technical capabilities of our Indian partners. Our existing in-country relationships with Indian entities such as Tata, Ashok Leyland, Lakshmi Machine Works, Midhani, Rossell Techsys, and SASMOS, among others exemplify the Government of India’s mission to create ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in the defence sector,” said William L Blair, Chief Executive, Lockheed Martin India.

In addition to participation from Lockheed Martin’s global Tier-1 suppliers, key representatives from the State Governments will attend the event along with Indian and global industry leaders. “Hosting the annual India Suppliers Conference is a vital step in our resolve to develop the capabilities of suppliers and provide opportunities for them to access the global supply chain and manufacture in India, for India and the world,” Blair added.

The conference will provide a platform to drive conversations around building defence industrial capabilities that will drive ‘Make-in-India’ partnerships into the future, accelerate defence exports and expand Indo - US defence industrial strategic links, a Lockheed Martin release stated.

The last edition of Lockheed Martin’s annual India Suppliers’ Conference, which was held in 2021, saw 135 companies of all sizes ― large, MSMEs and start-ups ― participating in the conference and receiving the opportunity to showcase their companies to key stakeholders from the Government and industry. The two-day event witnessed more than 110 business-to-business meetings and more than 250 delegates participating in person.
