LML has announced that its electric scooter, the LML Star, has received the mandatory CMVR (Central Motor Vehicles Rules) certification. This certification confirms the scooter’s compliance with safety and quality standards paving the way for its launch in the Indian market later this year.
The vehicle is powered by a motor capable of delivering 5.87 kW of peak power, enabling a top speed of 90 kmph. These features are aimed at addressing the growing demand for reliable and performance-oriented electric scooters in the country.
Yogesh Bhatia, Managing Director and CEO of LML, mentioned 'Securing the CMVR Certificate for the LML Star is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality and safe electric vehicles. This marks a significant step forward in our mission to redefine mobility in India with technology-driven, eco-friendly solutions.'
The LML Star has dual-tone body styling and 14-inch wheels, while its advanced features, such as a digital display, swappable battery, and wireless charging capability, cater to modern consumer expectations. The scooter equipped with ABS, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-hold assist, and reverse mode.
While the company has not yet revealed the pricing figures, predictably the scooter will be priced competitively to attract urban commuters and eco-conscious buyers. Early estimates suggest a starting price range of around INR 1,30,000 to INR 1,50,000, positioning it as a premium yet accessible choice in the burgeoning electric vehicle segment.
