Lexus India has announced the launch of the ‘Lexus India’ App, a one-stop shop to provide integrated services to all Lexus owners in India. Interestingly, the launch of the app coincides with the commencement of deliveries of the Lexus RX, which is the carmaker’s first fully connected vehicle.
A press release from Lexus India noted that the connected and secure platform is backed by a touch of Omotenashi, from the Guest Experience Centre, Lexus Brand Space & support executives and is compatible with smartwatches and voice assistants in addition to smartphones.
The app comes with SOS e/b, which connects to a dedicated operator at the 24/7 Lexus Emergency Call Centre for support by manually pressing the E-call SOS button available on the overhead console. It also gets automatic collision notification - wherein the vehicle will automatically initiate a voice call to a 24/7 Lexus Emergency Call Centre in the event of a crash and airbags deployment.
Other features of the app include remote climate control, remote ventilation, 24/7 roadside assistance, driver or chauffeur alert, remote immobilisation and service history & estimate.
