Land Rover Introduces The High-Performance Defender OCTA mobility outlook

Land Rover has unveiled its latest edition in the Defender line-up, the Defender OCTA, which has been designed to be the toughest and most capable model in the Defender family. It features a 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine, producing 626 bhp and up to 750 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.0 seconds. This power is complemented by a reworked chassis and innovative technologies like 6D Dynamics suspension, which provides exceptional performance on a wide range of surfaces and conditions.

The new Defender OCTA will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 11-14 July 2024. Orders will open soon, with indicative prices starting at INR 265 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard model and INR 285 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the Edition One.

Named after the hardest and most desirable mineral on earth, the diamond, the Defender OCTA embodies a rare combination of extreme toughness and luxury. Its new design includes a bold stance, extended wheel arches, and redesigned bumpers for improved approach and departure angles. The vehicle is equipped with underbody protection to enhance its off-road capabilities, allowing it to wade through up to one metre of water.

OCTA mode unlocks the vehicle's full off-road prowess, including dedicated anti-lock braking and launch control. The 6D Dynamics suspension system, with pitch and roll control, provides a game-changing performance, ensuring both maximum wheel articulation off-road and reduced roll on-road.

The Defender OCTA Edition One, available in the first year of production, features a curated specification that includes exclusive paint options like Faroe Green, Chopped Carbon Fibre detailing, and 20-inch forged alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres. Inside, it boasts highly durable materials, new Performance Seats with Body and Soul Seat technology, and immersive audio technology developed in collaboration with SUBPAC and Coventry University.
