Both motorcycles get a 5.54kWh battery pack

KTM AG has been working on developing electric motorcycles for a while now. While it has had electric enduro bikes in international markets, in 2025, street-legal electric motorcycles will hit the market.

As per leaked documents filed at the NHTSA in America, KTM will launch the Electric Freeride, a road-legal electric motorcycle next year. Similarly, Husqvarna will launch the Electric Pioneer, which will have a different design to the KTM but will have the same chassis and motor.

Both models are listed as ‘5.54kWh Li-ion’, hinting at a 5.54kWh battery pack. That said, information about the electric motor’s output is currently sparse. Back in 2022, the KTM E-Duke, Husqvarna E-Pilen and the Freeride E LV concept electric motorcycles were shown to the world. Of the three electric concepts, the KTM Freeride E LV was said to be closer to production.

Since the Freeride E LV came with a removable battery pack, we expect the upcoming KTM and Husqvarna electric motorcycles to get the same swappable batteries.

More details about the production-spec electric motorcycles will emerge close to the end of the year.
