Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions Ltd., a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, and Yuma Energy, one of India’s largest Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) providers, have announced a strategic partnership to make electric vehicles more accessible and practical.

The partnership aims to accelerate the shift to clean energy by addressing key challenges in EV adoption, such as high upfront costs and limited charging infrastructure. Kinetic Green will focus on delivering advanced EV technology and sustainable mobility solutions, while Yuma Energy will provide reliable, safe, and efficient battery-swapping infrastructure. Together, they aim to offer affordable, accessible, and reliable EVs for a seamless customer experience.

Initially, the partnership will focus on high-demand use cases such as shared passenger mobility and last-mile delivery, where operational efficiency and uptime are critical. Battery swapping will allow fleet operators and riders to maintain uninterrupted operations without waiting for battery recharging. This approach ensures practically unlimited EV range, higher productivity, and reduced costs for users.

The partnership will deliver value in several ways:

    • Wide Choice: Kinetic Green’s diverse range of swap-ready EVs will integrate seamlessly into Yuma Energy’s BaaS network, catering to fleet operators and individual riders.
    • Comprehensive Access: Yuma Energy subscribers will gain access to over 200 swapping stations, with plans for continuous expansion.
    • Exceptional Service: The companies aim to provide 99% uptime and sub-one-minute swap times at stations, ensuring minimal disruptions for users.
    • Cost-Efficiency: Battery swapping separates vehicle and battery costs, reducing upfront expenses and eliminating range anxiety and maintenance concerns.

The rollout begins in February 2025 in Pune, Kinetic Green’s home city, where approximately 1,000 E-Luna EVs will be offered to select fleet operators. The E-Luna is ideal for last-mile delivery in food, groceries, e-commerce, and quick commerce sectors. Over the year, the deployment will expand nationally, with 10,000 EVs, including two- and three-wheelers, introduced under the partnership.

Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, said that integrating Kinetic Green’s vehicles with Yuma’s battery-swapping ecosystem will accelerate EV adoption, maximise customer earnings, and revolutionise the last-mile mobility sector.

Muthu Subramanian, MD & GM of Yuma Energy, stated that the collaboration combines Kinetic Green’s legacy with Yuma Energy’s technology to set new standards in affordability, reliability, and innovation.
