Kia Corporation has unveiled its latest electric vehicle models, the EV4 and Concept EV2, at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain. These launches mark a significant expansion of Kia’s EV line-up, catering to a broader audience with new sedan, hatchback, and SUV options. The EV4 is set to begin global sales in 2025, with the Korean market receiving the first deliveries in March. Meanwhile, the Concept EV2 provides a glimpse into Kia’s plans for the B-segment electric SUV category.

The Kia EV4 introduces a fresh take on electric sedans and hatchbacks, offering a new typology in an EV market heavily dominated by SUVs and crossovers. The model features bold styling, advanced technology, and a user-centric design aimed at making electric mobility more accessible. Built on Kia’s 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV4 offers two battery options: a 58.3 kWh standard version and an 81.4 kWh long-range variant. The long-range model delivers an impressive 630 km of all-electric range (WLTP), setting a new benchmark in efficiency for its class. The sedan variant achieves a top speed of 170 kmph and accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.4 seconds. A fast-charging capability allows a 10-80% charge in 31 minutes.

Kia has also integrated innovative charging and energy solutions into the EV4, including Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionalities, enabling the car to supply power to external devices or feed energy back into the grid. The design is aerodynamically optimised with a low drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd, enhancing both efficiency and performance. The EV4’s ride quality is refined with MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup, further enhanced by frequency-responsive suspension dampers.

Inside, the EV4 is equipped with a 30-inch connected car navigation cockpit, which includes three integrated screens. It also features Kia’s Digital Key 2.0, allowing access via smartphones and smartwatches, and supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Kia’s AI-powered voice assistant and advanced regenerative braking system add to the vehicle’s high-tech appeal. The interior is designed for comfort, with an emphasis on space optimization, featuring a sliding centre console, generous luggage capacity of 490 litres, and ambient lighting options.
