The Korean carmaker Kia India announced the commencement of bookings for its first EV in the country, the EV6 at INR3 lakh through 15 select dealerships across 12 cities.
Finding its way through the CBU route with only 100 units to be imported, the car is expected to be launched on June 2, 2022.
Built on the company’s dedicated EV platform, the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Indian version of the EV packs in a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, generating 229ps electric power in 2WD and 325ps in AWD variant. These specifications are for the global model and Indian specs may vary since homologation is under process, an official communication from the company said.
The company claims a WLTP range of 528 kilometres on a single charge and a 0-100 kmph sprint time of 5.2 seconds. The car will be available with five exterior colourcolour options - Moonscape, Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and Yachtafety.
