Kia India has initiated a voluntary recall for 1,138 units of its EV6 model. These vehicles, manufactured between 3rd March 2022 and 14th April 2023, are being recalled due to a potential fault in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) which could impact the performance of the 12V auxiliary battery.
This recall stems from concerns that the ICCU may contain an error that compromises the functionality of the auxiliary battery, a crucial component for the vehicle’s overall electrical system. The manufacturer has emphasised that this measure is being taken to prevent any possible inconvenience or safety issues that might arise from the identified problem. Kia India has communicated this recall to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) and will directly inform the owners of the affected vehicles about the necessary steps.
Owners of the impacted EV6 units will be contacted by Kia to schedule an appointment with authorised dealers for the software update. This initiative highlights Kia’s proactive approach in maintaining the trust and satisfaction of its customers by addressing potential issues before they escalate.
