In a significant move to alleviate range anxiety and promote electric vehicle (EV) adoption in India, Kia India has introduced the K-Charge initiative. This innovative feature, integrated into the 'MyKia' app, provides users access to a network of over 1000 EV charging stations nationwide. Notably, Kia is extending this service not only to its customers but also to non-Kia EV users, demonstrating a commitment to advancing EV infrastructure for the benefit of the entire community.
A special collaboration with Relux Electric offers Kia customers three months of free charging through their stations, enhancing the value proposition for existing and potential EV owners.
Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, emphasized that K-Charge is not just a convenience initiative but a significant step toward making sustainable mobility accessible to everyone. The integration of K-Charge into the 'MyKia' app simplifies the EV charging process, allowing users to locate charging stations, check availability, and make payments within a single platform. The user-friendly functionalities aim to eliminate the need for multiple external applications, aligning with Kia's vision to enhance the overall EV ownership experience.
The K-Charge initiative aligns with Kia's broader vision, 'EV for All,' aiming to achieve an annual sales target of one million EVs by 2026, with further expansion to 1.6 million units annually by 2030. Kia's strategy in India involves the launch of global EV models, coupled with the introduction of a locally manufactured EV in the RV body style by 2030.
