Kia India has announced the introduction of four new variants of the refreshed Sonet, infusing its entry and mid-level offerings with coveted premium features, including sunroofs. Kia India's latest update introduces two new variant labels - HTE(O) and HTK(O), each available with either a Petrol G1.2 or Diesel 1.5 CRDi VGT engine. The HTE(O) variant, building upon the foundational HTE trim, now includes a sunroof, adding a touch of luxury to the entry-level offering.
Meanwhile, the HTK(O) variant goes a step further by incorporating a sunroof, LED Connected Taillamps, Fully Automatic Temperature Control (FATC), and a Rear Defogger, elevating the mid-range offering with features typically found in higher-end models. The addition of these features is not merely aesthetic or comfort-driven; they represent Kia's proactive approach to integrating advanced technology and luxury in accessible packages.
Beyond the new variants, Kia India has introduced additional upgrades across the Sonet range. The top-tier GTX+ and HTX+ variants now feature an all-windows up/down safety function, adding an extra layer of convenience and security. Moreover, customers of the HTE and HTK variants have the option to choose from three new colour schemes—Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, and Pewter Olive—offering greater personalisation and choice.
Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales and Business Officer at Kia India, highlighted the positive reception of the recently launched Sonet and emphasised the company's strategy to democratise premium features. The introduction of sunroofs and connected tail lamps in more accessible variants aligns with Kia's mission to deliver superior value and cater to the evolving demands of modern consumers. Additionally, Sohn pointed to the Sonet's competitive maintenance costs, as validated by industry research, further enhancing its value proposition.
