Korean carmaker Kia India on Tuesday announced that it has crossed the five lakh domestic sales mark since it entered the Indian market three years ago. The company noted that the last one lakh sales were completed in the last 4.5 months on the back of strong demand for the Carens. Including exports, the company's cumulative dispatches soar to 634,224 units from its Anantapur manufacturing facility.
The company's compact SUV Seltos contributed about 59% of its total sales, followed by Sonet with 32% and Carens with 6.5%.
Besides, the release added that the current calendar year has been its most successful year so far as it has already sold almost 70% of the last year's sales.
Myung-Sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, noted that India remains a priority market for the company. He added that three out of five product offerings in the country are not only manufactured locally but exported to different global markets as well.
