The automaker will bring out special editions of all budget models in the final quarter.
Kia India began the year with the launch of the updated Sonet and then followed this up in the second quarter with the launch of the Carnival and the EV9. It will now complete the calendar year by banking on value addition by introducing lower-spec versions of the GT-Line trims for the Sonet and the Seltos and special editions for the Carens, Sonet and the Seltos.
The affordable GT-Line trims were an expected step given that currently, the GT-Line package is only available in the higher-spec variants. This will expand the appeal of both vehicles to a wider audience. There is no word on the special editions, but from Kia’s official release, we can understand that it will include feature updates in addition to cosmetic changes.
Kia is expected to begin the next FY with a major update for its Carens MPV before a fully electric version is launched between Q2 and Q3 of CY 2025. This will be the sister car to the Hyundai Creta EV, which will arrive in Q1 of CY 2025.
